Description

Creekside Cottage is a lovingly restored and maintained 19th century cottage overlooking the banks of Mylor Creek with far reaching views across the water and the rolling Cornish countryside beyond. It provides a perfect all year round base for water based activities, bird-watching and wildlife, walking, cycling, painting, or simply relaxing with a in a beautiful peaceful environment

A large, sunny, open front garden enjoys a 40 ft frontage directly onto the stunning Mylor Creek and the Carrick Roads beyond, and is of the very few locations in Cornwall where traditional working boats still dredge for oysters under sail. Our private foreshore and the adjacent public slipway provides an ideal place to launch your own family adventures afloat or simply soak up the peaceful atmosphere and view the abundent wildlife on the Creek all around you, including curlews and other wading birds foraging at the waterline.

Inside, the cottage has a contemporary feel, and is constantly updated and meticulously maintained by the owners to offer clean, beautifully presented and well appointed accommodation for up to 6 guests. The cottage comfortably accommodates a family or up to 5 adults, and yet is cosy enough for couples.

The interconnected ground floor reception rooms provide a sociable and welcoming living and dining space for a family or friends to enjoy during their holiday. The sitting area enjoys views of the passing boats and paddleboards in the Creek as well as a relaxed atmosphere to chat or watch TV, stream your favourite channels, or pick a DVD from the owners' collection.

A large archway opens out into a dining area awash with natural light and enhanced by a country-style kitchen diner. A solid pine table comfortably sits up to 6 for intimate dinner parties.

Leading on from the dining area, the bright and contemporary spot-lit kitchen features an oak vaulted ceiling and is fully equipped with a broad range of high quality appliances to make self-catering as convenient as possible, including a dishwasher, large fridge freezer incorporating an icemaker and filtered iced water dispenser, microwave and air frier, ceramic hob, oven and grill.

The adjoining utility room is equipped with a washing machine, a heat pump tumble dryer and hanging space for wetsuits/walking/sailing gear. Leading off is a shower room which is useful after a day on the water. From the utility room a stable door opens out and up the stone steps into an enclosed large and sunny back garden with a table and 6 chairs for entertaining in the sunshine.

The contemporary style of the accommodation continues up to the first floor (the original staircase is quite steep and incorporates a stair gate) with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.  Each bedroom is furnished in a nautical theme, comfortable and bright, and with stunning views over the creek from 3 of the 4 bedrooms.

Couples can easily relax in the master bedroom with its King size bed and smart TV.  This room offers tranquil views over the large rear gardens of the cottage and is perfectly complemented by a modern en-suite with power shower.

A further bedroom ideal for couples can also be found with stunning views over Mylor Creek, with a double bed and freeview TV. A bright and welcoming single bedroom, again overlooking the Creek, leads off from the double bedroom with both rooms enjoying shared access to a modern fitted family bathroom with power shower. A fourth bedroom with single bed also overlooks the beautiful waterside, to complete the stylish and well presented sleeping accommodation.

About Us

We are a Chartered Surveyor and professional Artist couple with a grown up family and 2 dogs who love sailing, paddleboarding and in particular exploring Cornwall "off the beaten track". We fell under the spell of beautiful Mylor Creek many years ago and still look forward to returning for our own holidays as often as we can.

We hosted our first guests 10 years ago and it's always a pleasure to welcome so many previous guests who want to stay with us again and again in this beautiful corner of Cornwall.

We have a fantastic local housekeeping, maintenance and gardening team helping us to keep the cottage beautifully presented for our guests to enjoy, and we spend much of the closed season planning improvements and upgrades which are carried out in spring each year.
